Wines of The World Series:
1. Old World -vs- New World Wine.
The class will touch on wine production
but this is a wine tasting seminar. If you
are interested in malolactic fermentation,
you will have to ask after class!
We will explore the world of wine tasting
using the "Big Six" varieties of Sauvignon
Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon from both
New World regions (California, Australia, Oregon)
and Old World regions (France, Italy, Germany).
Time: February 2007; To Be Announced
Cost: $55 per person
(The fee is to cover the cost of the wine and course materials.
You will not be tasting the cheap stuff!)
Please contact us for dates and times: Seminars@InnovativeWine.com
2. Old World Wines 1, Italy
Join us as we explore Italy through wine.
Italy is one of the most exciting places on
earth for the wine lover. Each of Italy's
sub regions offers something special to
explore. From a light crisp Grillo from Sicily
to Barolo in the Piedmont hills, we will take
you on "journey in a glass" to the world's
largest producer of wine. Forget about the
cheap Asti-Spumante you may have tasted
in your youth. The Asti region has grown up
and the wines are very adult. Learn how Amarone
is made or if you have never heard of it, learn why
people who have tasted it go nuts for it.
You may not even know that you cared what the
difference is between DOC, DOCG and IGT!
Time: To Be Announced
Cost: $65 per person
(Great Italian Wine does not come cheap and you will be tasting some great ones!)
